Uses

The uses of sorghum include the following:

  • Food – can be used to also make bread, couscous, porridges, breakfast cereals, soups and cakes.
  • Fodder for cattle, poultry and bird food.
  • Alcoholic Beverages – Mainly beer.
  • Some sorghum varieties have also been used for baskets, fencing, thatch and brushes.
